Q. What is "upgraded" memory, and why is it less expensive?
A. Upgraded memory will look like a 1GB USB flash drive (for example), but is utilizing 128MB chips. Nothing can be stored on them - photos, MP3, or data files. They will be destroyed. Since 128MB flash memory is much less expensive than 1GB flash, the finished product is cheaper.
***Buyer beware*** We only use Grade A, original flash memory in our orders that will pass H2 testing - that's what we are quoting.
Q. What is "white" or "black" flash memory?
A. White flash memory is product that did not meet grade (2GB for example), so it is formatted using software to look like 1GB flash memory.
Black flash is memory that has been recycled; it is completely unreliable and unusable in many cases.
We have found that both of these grades to be very unreliable. Some white flash will work fine, but the failure rates will be relatively high compared to original Grade A flash. Drop out rates of 5-10% are not unusual; sometimes even higher.
A low price may not be a bargain after all.
We only use Grade A, original memory, covered by a lifetime limited warranty. Everything we ship to you should work - 100%!.
Q. What is high speed flash memory?
A. This is special, high performance flash memory for your more critical, time sensitive applications.
Write speeds are 7-9MB per second.
Read speeds are 13-15MB per second.
Normal USB 2.0 has write speeds of 7-9MB/second; Read speeds of 9-11MB/second.
Most of our products utilize normal flash memory. High speed memory will be noted in the product specifications.
